Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup 4 oz. unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 medium garlic cloves, finely chopped about 2 Tbsp.
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley from 1 bunch
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh chives from 1 [1/2-oz.] pkg.
  • 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon zest plus 1/2 tsp. fresh juice from 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. chopped fresh thyme from 1 [1/2-oz.] pkg.
  • 1/4 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper

Method

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Combine butter, garlic, parsley, chives, mustard, lemon zest, smoked paprika, salt, lemon juice, black pepper, thyme, chili powder, and red pepper flakes in a medium bowl until well blended.
  3. Transfer butter mixture to a large sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper; roll into a log, shaping as needed. Twist the log, holding both ends of plastic wrap, until taut and uniform in shape. Refrigerate for 2 hours for flavors to meld and for mixture to firm up.
  4. Cut into slices; top steak, seafood, vegetables, or spread onto bread. Alternatively, melt and use as a dipping sauce. Recipe developed by Marianne Williams
